Elections to the WHMD Board of Directors are held in May of even-numbered years. Terms of service are four years, and the district’s bylaws restrict directors to two terms. The board’s five directors are elected on a staggered system, so that three seats will be up for election in 2018, two seats in 2020, three seats in 2022, etc. The board is non-partisan. Any resident of the district who is registered to vote is permitted to run, and the district encourages and welcomes new candidates.
Every resident registered to vote in Colorado receives a district ballot in the mail. As with other elections in Colorado, ballots are mailed to the mailing address of every Woodmen Hills voter. To register to vote, change your registration address, or change your mailing address, visit the Colorado Secretary of State here.
