Summer Hours in Place at RCE and CCW

Find the policies and procedures for the outdoor pool here and for the indoor pool here. There are a few especially important points to note:

Your family’s health and well-being is our primary concern. That’s why we adhere to the following safety procedures when thunder, lightning and other signs of inclement weather strike near the outdoor pool. These procedures are recommended by the National Lightning Safety Institute, National Weather Service and American Red Cross.

  • When thunder or lightning is first noticed, monitoring systems are enabled and actively scanned. If the electrical component of the storm reaches to within 10 miles of the pool site, the water will be cleared and outdoor pool closed until the storm passes.
  • If a severe thunderstorm warning is issued for our immediate area, programs will be immediately suspended and the outdoor pool area will be quickly and safely evacuated.

Outdoor pool rules

  • Except for water, food and beverages are prohibited in the pool area.
  • Only Coast Guard approved lifejackets are permitted.
  • Children under the age of 6, or in a lifejacket, must be within arm’s reach at all times.
  • Appropriate swimwear is required. Mesh shirts and nylon lycra swimwear are acceptable. Street clothing, denim & cotton are not allowed.

We look forward to a hot summer of swimming fun with you, Woodmen Hills!
