Wastewater Treatment Plant

Woodmen Hill’s journey to a new wastewater treatment facility began in 2009, when the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment, following the lead of United States Environmental Protection Agency, informed Woodmen Hills that its wastewater lagoon system, constructed in 1987, had fallen out of compliance with the State’s standards.

Fast-forward to 2017. After years of careful stewardship and with its finances in order, Woodmen Hills broke ground June 30 on a new facility at the northeast corner of Meridian Ranch Boulevard and Stapleton Road, which would come to be known as the Regional Water Reclamation Facility.

This project was completed on March 29, 2019. The Regional Water Reclamation Facility is now fully operational.

For more information about this project, see this slideshow produced by the District’s water contract JDS Hydro for the July 26, 2018 board meeting.
